Resuscitation Poem by Sarah Elizabeth Clark

Resuscitation

this feels like fever
and I'm shaking
flip the switch
between life and faking

the floor is pulsing
bodies heated
lies we've told
ourselves defeated

it is my cardio
sweet heart attack
CPR on the dance floor
to bring me back

blood pumps again
and then I see
that every time
the rush saves me
