When things
Go bad
And I go
Slipping down
A rocky
River bed

When tears
Find their ways
Pouring down
My cheeks
Giving away
What my
quivering lips
Find hard
To say

When all
The dance
And songs
Want me to
Retreat
Into a land
Where I belong
Quite darkness
Is all That I long

When dawn
Or dusk
The fresh
Dewy musk
Gives me reasons
To run away
From disrupted
trust

All that I do
Is climb back
Into my sacred
Shell
Hibernating
From the world
Quarantined
From rest of
The herd

Until, I am
Able to regroup
and reassure
Knowing that
I'll be secure
Of treading
On unwieldy
Road
Showing
The world
A facade
So bold
And nothing
Matters
Of what
Is said or
Told
Nalini

Nicely composed. Words choice is very good. Thanks for sharing.

Quite darkness Is all That I long.................................. I think you meant Quiet darkness. Always enjoy reading your pieces Nalini. Unlike some, your writing seems to be effortless. You always have a story or message. And nothing Matters.................I read on this site recently a little pearl of wisdom. Can't remember the (poet?) name. He wrote Everything matters, even ant matter matters. For some reason this little pearl stuck in my mind.

Simple, flowing, with good imagery. You have a knack with your words. I have rated this.
