Respectable Poem by Dean Meredith

Respectable

She was a cute little thing
And seemed to come
All by herself
Except for her mobile
And the missing friend
She was young
But not too young
And tanned
But not too tanned
She had courage
Enough to come by herself
With no interruptions
And no distractions
That was admirable
And respectable in itself
Let alone those sheer shorts
And lean legs
To think about dying for
But no
The fact that she volunteered
And gave something of herself
For seemingly nothing
That was the real reason
For my seedy respect
And ‘no good deed...
Should go
... Unrewarded'
