Reptile Heart Poem by Poetheart Morgan

Reptile Heart

beat slow and cold
inside my~ something~
what once was innocent and hot
transform itself in a torpid beast

A evolution of the species

i always knew that i was a reptile
changing colors and sharpening my claws
an alteration in my eyes
two colored orbits ~peppering ~

I spit ink to seduce
an introduction for their surrender
placid temptation in my colored lake
there ~exposed ~ in sunbathing

perfect tail and smooth paws
powering the desire to capture me
in a thrust of lust ~lips wandering through my mouth~
waiting~ patiently~ by the normal beat ….

of my reptile heart

A evolution of the species .............. i was taught an in front of words beginning with a vowel....and a' in front of words beginning with a consonant....something like that; it was a long time ago! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - transform itself in a torpid beast.....i think you want into, not in here - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - here are some definitions for ORBIT: NOUN 1. the (usually elliptical) path described by one celestial body in its revolution about another 2. a particular environment or walk of life 3. the bony cavity in the skull containing the eyeball 4. an area in which something acts or operates or has power or control and here are some definitions for ORB: (the numbers in the list did not copy from the online site; i put the #s in) ..............LOOK AT #5. Noun orb (plural orbs) 1. A spherical body; a globe; especially, one of the celestial spheres; a sun, planet, or star In the small orb of one particular tear. - Shakespeare Whether the prime orb, Incredible how swift, had thither rolled. - John Milton 2. One of the azure transparent spheres conceived by the ancients to be inclosed one within another, and to carry the heavenly bodies in their revolutions 3. A circle; especially, a circle, or nearly circular orbit, described by the revolution of a heavenly body; an orbit The schoolmen were like astronomers, which did feign eccentrics, and epicycles, and such engines of orbs. - Bacon You seem to me as Dian in her orb. - Shakespeare In orbs Of circuit inexpressible they stood, Orb within orb. - John Milton 4. (rare) A period of time marked off by the revolution of a heavenly body. - John Milton 5. (poetic) The eye, as luminous and spherical 6. A drop serene hath quenched their orbs. - John Milton 7. (poetic) A revolving circular body; a wheel The orbs Of his fierce chariot rolled. - John Milton 8. (rare) A sphere of action. - William Wordsworth But in our orbs we'll live so round and safe. - Shakespeare 9. A globus cruciger A translucent sphere appearing in flash photography 10. (military) A body of soldiers drawn up in a circle, as for defence, especially infantry to repel cavalry. SO Mirna, i'm guessing you MIGHT want to use orbs instead of orbits? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - if an alligator ever grabbed me and took me to her lair, i would wish for her to be YOU! hee hee. bri thanks for sharing. :) p.s. i wonder WHY that poet-friend callED you an alligator. hmmm?
