Remembrance Poem by Debra Kay Robinson

Remembrance

Rating: 5.0

Through waves of smoke and destruction,
Men and women who sacrificed all,
Their measure of assurance and commitment,
That Old Glory forever stands tall.

Each soul forever committed,
In service for the greater good,
Sacrificing their hopes and their futures,
Defeating evil right where it stood.

At 3PM on this Memorial Day
Remember the souls,
The heroes,
And all that they gave.

Your freedoms, your liberties,
All were at stake,
Be it before your own birth,
Or this day that you awake.

They answered the call to service,
Many a hero did fall,
Remember this, with the greatest of thanks
The cost was some gave all…
