Remembering Your Ex-Wife Poem by William Cavanagh

Remembering Your Ex-Wife

How agreeably I recall
Her ingenious style
The passion & chill
Of the corridor’s tile

Her sneering smile
+ a squint of denial
Graciously aggressive
& sexually hostile

Tanned + talented
Traveled + versatile
& fully the while
Effeminate & vile

I would grovel a mile
To sample her favor
Her widow’s peak
& double-dimpled smile

Betrayal + beguile
= a life worthwhile
