Remembering Eden Poem by Katrina Harms

Remembering Eden

There is no place for me in this world,
when I cannot see the one I love
Through the veil of time and distance,
When unseeable boundary pits itself against me
When my own heart refuses to beat
When my breath is stolen
When your face murders me
with precious longing.
It is you I yearn for
In my deepest sorrow
Those endless nights
and dreary days
Nothing will satisfy, but the hopeless touch of your hand
The insatiable want for your face, your voice, your nearness.
Nothing will suffice
But the true impossibility of our love.
