Remember Me When I'M Gone Poem by Joanna Hamilton

Remember Me When I'M Gone

When my life has ended,
Remember my promise to stay with you always
For your life will just begin

When I am under the earth,
Do not weep out of sorrow
For you will still be above it

When you play in the fall leaves,
Remember our games
For we played them so long ago

When you smile and laugh,
Think of me
For time is beginning all over

When you first taste love,
Remember my heart
For it was swollen with love for you

When you hear my name,
Do not fall back in surprise
For many call my name their own

When you hear the news,
Do not cry out in despair
For you have lived a full life

When you are barely able to move,
Remember my smiling face as they laid me to rest
For you shall soon join me again

When you lie on your deathbed,
Remember my promise to be with you always
For soon you shall see my face
