Remember Poem by J.K. Patrick

Remember

Rating: 5.0

I went to work.
Just another day.
I didn't know it would be my last.
Remember me.
I boarded a plane
To visit my family in California.
I didn't know that I would never see them again.
Remember me.
I was a firefighter,
Ready to save lives at the sound of an alarm.
I didn't know I would give my life that day.
Remember me.

September 11,2001
Marked one of the biggest days of American history.
It marked the end of our lives.
Remember us.
We never knew each other
But we all had something in common.
We were American.
We still are.
Remember us.

Remember what we stand for.
Remember Freedom.
Remember Liberty.
Remember Justice.
Remember Community.
Remember Family.

Don't let our memory die.
Stand for the same things we do.
You don't have to give up your life.
But you can use it to promote what America is.
America is the Land of the Free.
America is the Home of the Brave.
Remember us.
Remember U.S.
Remember.
