Remember

I remember,
you bought us whiskey
labelled in night blackness
then we sipped
our spirits at the threshold
of your house
and gossipped
and laughed
and fought
and heard the barking dog
under your bed
longing to join his comrades
for a night in the wilderness

"Arcturus" is his other name—
I'd rather call him "Star."
