Religions Extremes Poem by Damian Cranney

Religions Extremes

Religion

Religion is only an invention by man.
An attempt to explain the universal plan,
As a set of rules, it sometimes can be,
A way of living in harmony,

However, it always engenders in men,
A partisan instinct, which makes him then hate
Anyone with a different, opinion to state.
If any one suffers, from religions extreme,
Or in Gods name, because of this theme,
The religion is obviously, not part of the plan,
Is it possible to justify, try if you can.
But if you participate in justification,
Your part of the problem of harmonisation.

The greatest precept for living your life,
Is That which adjures you to treat others,
As you would want to be treated yourself,
If everyone practised that dictum,
Religion could be left on the shelf.
