Religion Poem by Amanda Saveley

Religion

Rating: 2.5

Religion:
I hate it
Not hating God, that is.
I just hate Religion
Or rather,
Those who shove it in my face
'God will save you if you believe.'
I believe, yet I am not saved
'There is hope in Jesus Christ.'
Good for Jesus. Do you think he'd share?
'Where there is God, there is light.'
That's great....if you like a blinding light searing straight into your BRAIN!
(as for me, I'll stay where it's darker, so I can sleep, okay?)
I have had people call me athiest
Okay, I'm a little guilty of being sarcastic
Cynical, even..
But athiest?
Do you think, just because I don't go to church,
That I'm athiest?
Really?
Because........
If God really IS everywhere........
Why am I going to a specific building to worship?
He knows my address
He could send me an e-mail
Or something......
I honestly don't think that going to church is all that important to Him, anyway.

I wanna be athiest, You're right. If 'god' wants us to be happy, and be free... Why does he decree to worship him?

exactly what i think too...a very angry poem...if you have views so uncommon...there should be no anger...just acceptance that you are different...great going...gutsy...nalini
