Relief Poem by Hollie Mac

Relief

I beg for the sweet relief
Any minute now
Coldness on my skin
Hands shaking
With anticipation
Blade pressed down
But it doesn't come
Nothing happens
I can't just slide it
I promised wouldn't
Even though I need it
God let it out
The animal that rages
Underneath my skin
Threatening to escape
Begging to be released
I just want it gone
I need this
He doesn't understand
How bad it gets
It makes my skin craw and itch
I just want that sweet relief
