Release Poem by Kelsey Wallace

Release

Spiders crawling up my skin
Burrowing in my inner sin
Crawling, crawling, slowly crawling
Burrowing, burrowing finding a home
One of which I’ve never known
Falling and stumbling over you
My knees, my elbows, infinitely they bruise
My heart’s splinters dig deep
As I fall and weep
Weep and fall, hands painted with leaves
Grabbing, clutching, grasping for dear life
Living and dying, to feel the light
But I don’t find it
And the spiders burrow and crawl
All over my skin, I wish you goodbye
