Rekindling Faith Poem by Yasmin Khan

Rekindling Faith

Singing tonight playing upon the moon-strings
Yon gracious orb quaint and full, in elegance rises
A midnight lotus on the pond of dark, silence sings
Muted, soft songs that only she herself can listen,
Stirred by a faint wind the night blooms pour forth
Warm scent, its gentleness on her cheeks she feels,
Past dreams glow, a thousand lighted casements
Blaze in a distance, a thaumatrope of past and present.
Flashbacks vividly bring the memory of the times
When all promises, vows crumbled to pieces,
She screamed silently in loneliness to herself
Yet didn't lose her revitalising convictions,
Her belief in reversals, in row-back sustained her
And this brimming plump moon distant and remote,
A rekindle of faith brings back to her mind the sweet
Remembrance of redeeming hope and optimism!
