Rehab Poem by David Musoke

Rehab

Staring into the distance I meet her gaze
Why does darkness surround her
In an instant she was no more
My phoenix, to ashes she has turned

Tears run down my cheeks as I stare at the dying embers
Her death quickens my body with life
From the ashes she will rise are his words
Duty consumes me as I harken to hope's words

This room will no more hold me, the world will see my resolve
I gather all my strength as I pick up my sword
In the chambers of chaos guarded by despair and desolation I stand
Into the abyss I jump to make war, for the phoenix rises
