Regret Poem by TMA

Regret

Rating: 5.0

Regret is a terrible thing.

The opportunity forsaken,

The friendship turned down,

The risk not taken…

I’d rather have the scars to show

I tried, and got burned

Than have my flawless, unblemished skin, yet know

My chance is gone, and won’t return…

Life isn’t worth the living

If we won’t risk getting hurt

Or are too afraid of losing face

Or afraid of broken hearts…

I won’t play it safe- I’ll take my chances

They’re for the taking anyway

’Cause sometimes the flock you have in hand

Isn’t worth the one you let get away…

The topic of regret for poets is quite common and I like your poem very much. I totally agree with you when you say life isn't worth it without risks as it is so true. Keep up the good work my friend.
