Regret Poem by Doom & Gloom

Regret

Rating: 4.5

I have lost that for which I had sought for so long
All my beliefs proved to be wrong
The unity I sought was not what was found
No merging of souls eternally bound
No forever together till death do us part
No always in love with all of my heart
No growing closer as years roll by
No fairytale, but merely a lie

I was trapped in deceit for so very long
But I saw the way out and chose to be strong
The sentence complete the fetters unbound
Now unentwined but no happiness found
Now all alone till death closes in
Now broken hearted and hollow within
Now growing fainter as years roll by
Now near the end I yearn for the lie
