Reformation And The Holy Grail Poem by gershon hepner

Reformation And The Holy Grail

The Reformation symphony provides
the leitmotif that Richard Wagner uses for the Grail; .
Wagner collaborates though he collides
with Mendlessohn, whose music he declares beyond the Pale.

The “Dresden Amen” that Mendlessohn introduces in the strings in the first movement of his Fifth Symphony (“The Reformation”) s is used by Wagner as the leitmotif in the Grail leitmotif in “Parsifal”.
