Redemption (Circus Clown) Poem by Alone Soul

Redemption (Circus Clown)

Here came the circus to the town
And I got to play the leading clown
The show was a super hit
Everyone laughed watching me bleed

As this joker was tossed around the stage
Applauses went on but none for a praise
People teasing and making my fun
But I kept acting coz the show had to go on

I swallowed my pride and hid my shame
Just so that you could play on your game
And there you sat on the very first row
Enjoying how this clown's fighting his sorrow

Nomore the man he used to be
This fall from my grace I cannot see
So I blinded my eyes and deafen my ears
This humiliation I could no more bear

But this joker still had to play his part
Give you a smile despite his broken heart
Now how long will he be able to pretend
Desperately waiting for my role to end

And there you're still clapping from the first row
You kept directing me and I had to follow
You promised this joker will now get a better role
And in this hope he tried to mend his soul

But when came the time for this clown's role to change
You rather told him to get off the stage
You kicked me out and said nomore I need you
Coz you've got someone else now to fill in my shoe

And you used to say we'll always stay the same
But apparently for you it was all just a game
And those seven steps you walked with me
how could you so easily forget
Now those seven steps I walked with you
I wonder whether to cherish or regret...
