Red Ball Poem by Tom Allport

Red Ball

Rating: 2.5

I am the same as another fourteen
But in fact I am pretty sad
If only I was dipped in another colour
My life wouldn't be so bad
The table light lights up with bright white light
It shines down in my face
I am in the triangle waiting my turn
To be sent to another place
But I get so tired rolling around
Travelling on the green
And then the man with the cue arrives
He looks is so very mean
Slowly he leans, eyeing up the shot
Suddenly he strikes me.............
Running so fast, heading to pocket
Fit like a lock and key
Life of a red ball
Is pretty sad
If only dipped in another colour
My life wouldn't be so bad!

He looks is so very mean...................you can blame your daughter for the 'problem' i see here. btw, thanks for the Poet's Notes. i'm enjoying the poem, but i'd enjoy it even more if proofreading were more used/successful: e.g. Life of a red ball Is pretty said .................you really don't want said, do you! ? for some humans, life would be easier/'not so bad' if THEY were dipped in another color/colour! ! ! it's the same for people or puppies or flowers when it comes to 'people's' ideas of what is attractive. attractive humans [babies, children, and adults] get complimented on their looks sometimes by some people, while those humans of any age who are 'unfortunate' enough to be born or to become unattractive or even plain are not complimented or in other ways are 'left out'. now THAT IS SAD! ! but i have seen people walking dogs which (to ME) are very unattractive. well, those people either have a different outlook on dog-appearance, OR THEY SEE other attractive features they like in their dog. it may be a cliche, but you can't (always) 'tell a book' by its cover. oh, i am going on and on! ! this poem to MyPoemList. bri :)
