Recurring Dream Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

Recurring Dream

Rating: 5.0

Have a dream
Keeps coming back to me
In a house
Helpless as can be

Long dark hallways
Rooms with locked doors
So many places
I need to explore

I'm alone
As I go about my way
Don't know if it's dark
Don't know if it's day

It all seems familiar
Yet kind of scary strange
The dream keeps coming
It's always the same

The house has grabbed me
Pulled me in
Don't know what's gonna happen
When the dream comes to an end

Was this all part
Of some other life?
A portend of the future
A forgotten night

Have a dream
Keeps coming back to me
Tell me now
What's it all mean?

I love this poem, as I have experienced this dream-returning myself often. It is well to know we are not alone in the way we pass through this life, good actually to realize others, such as yourself, travel along the journey too, and therefore understand much of what we, together, experience. Thank you for being brave and transparent enough to bare and share parts of your mind and heart Lawerence. You, realized or not, do inspire. Write-on my friend...keep at it!
