Reckless Summers Poem by Chuy Amante

Reckless Summers

Freedom breeds
reckless abandon of other's old rules,
Slavery conforms souls,
no allowance for fun,
nor toadstools!

Who the hell wrote the old rules for society?
They must have been stuck in an old world of sobriety!

I say, toss the rules out, of your window wide open,
Grab a beer and some friends, let's do some hopin'

Grab your backpack, some food,
let's head to the mountain,
Days and days on the trail,
days I'm not countin'

Run wild in Nature, bathe in the cold stream,
This life is for real, this aint no silly dream.

Live fast, live hard,
live wild, live warm
Share love with the world,
do others no harm.

When I end up,
in my rocking chair,
I want to have great stories,
a life without care!

The mountains I climbed,
the waves I surfed well,
Happy to have LIVED it all,
lots of love,
what the hell!

Live reckless, live free,
always live wild,
make sure your life is always really hot
and never mild!
