Rebound Poem by Morakinyo Temiloluwa Bolarinwa

Rebound

I may be beaten but never broken,
I may be fallen but shall rise again,
again and again rise unbroken,
till even your peace know my pain.

be afraid of my mind,
the strength of soul you cannot break,
like Antaeus when he hits the sand,
My mar may mould and stronger make,

be afraid of my anger,
wanton freedom of the Id,
for when living lays in existence's danger,
self preservation follows defeat's lead.

be more afraid of the silence,
muted is that which dies with a fall,
through the wall and fences of pretence,
be afraid I see all.
