Reasoned Protest Is Not Crazy Poem by Ananta Madhavan

Reasoned Protest Is Not Crazy

One man's reason, one man's pride:
How can these the world decide?
One man's shout is one shout hushed.
They are right who have him crushed?
They are right, for they know best
How to quell his faint protest!

One man's reason is a crazy thing
Once it dares start questioning.
'Heed him not, ' is their strategy,
Doubt will drain his sanity.
They are right, for they know best
How to put a mind to rest.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Published in 1968. I wrote it as my tribute to thinkers and reformists who were never halted by being disregarded for their views.
I deliberately used a pattern of rhymes in two stanzas.
