Realization On A Quiet Evening Poem by Arpita Sud

Realization On A Quiet Evening

The heart is bursting with things to say
yet the mind is difficult to prey
like the weather that is unpredictable
it doesn't for long in one place stay.

A jumble of words, it is hard to say
what is it that in my mind play
to leave behind for tomorrow's sake
outside, it may or may not rain today.

When in the silence I peer inside
for the words to form precise
in this quiet evening the only thought
is one day we will all lose our lives.

Like a stream of ray on a cloudy day
like all thoughts melting onto one bay
I realize for the hundredth time again
I love you, is all I ever want to say.
