Reality Poem by Zoe Meyer

Reality

He says one thing but means another
You think you're safe, then comes the danger
This means that, and that means this
Fairy tales just don't exist

It's black and white, but mostly grey
Time moves on from night to day
Put the gearshift in reverse, everything is wrong
In reality I don't belong

There is no luck, maybe fate
No true love, maybe hate
Destiny which is claimed to be known
But none of it is ever shown

Our actions predict our way
The rest falls into play
Never a chance to pretend
Reality has a happy end
