Real Neighbour Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Real Neighbour

Rating: 5.0

Who can be called real neighbour?
Who stands by you in critical hour?
Who carries no ill will or harbour?
With you always and yours

On neighbours you can always bank
Open close secrets and remain frank
In happiness and moments toast drink
Share the feelings and always think

He is the one who attends you first
Relatives may know and come at the last
He may think wise and console your grief
Yet very near and far to be very brief

Neighbourer is real one and dear as God
Stands by in time and extends nod
Such peaceful and congenial atmosphere
Only luckiest will have to be found no where

This tradition remains centuries old
Relations grow and never freeze in cold
Embrace with love and firmly hold
To show real love with approach bold

Cities have witnessed deterioration in love
Relations cold and feeling far drove
No one would know who is next door
No warmth in feelings and ill will bore

No hi, hello or greetings exchange
No gatherings and orderly meetings arrange
Separate courtyards and affairs self manage
No strengthening of bonds but only damage

Who do we need at critical time?
Show of strength and love as prime
Only available source to take us closer
Forge the relation and permanent merger

Strive very hard to grow in harmony
Relation may weigh and not the money
Sweetness may be found only in honey
Rest all relations may be cruel joke and funny

very nice poem about good neighbors, but i cal this as luck, cause it may even be the other way, where you end up with some horrible neighbor who is so troublesome and jealous and does all bad things, even when you don't trouble them... getting a good neighbor is also a gift... nice poem.. lovely verses..

Yes, it's a sad fact that hyper-urbanization, in large part, has led to a deterioration in neighbor-bonds. Have you ever read Desmond Morris' 'the Human Zoo'? I recommend it. A good poem.
