Reading A Book Poem by swapna bhattacharya

Reading A Book

Reading a Book
Syed Kawsar Jamal

While reading a book, I just remembered you
I put a page mark on my restlessness
You are as ruthless as love
When I start reading you anew
Your face is drowned in darkness
The pages are as unintelligible as ever
And the words seem to respond from oblivion
I don't know why.
I wonder what does live in the fabric of words
Didn't you expect a reader like me?
I grope in the dark
I grope in ignorance of the book
Which starts spreading over my existence
And makes me lonely within myself
Your lie with your eyes half open
And a full page condolence falls upon me.
