Ravenous Howl... Poem by Dorothy Kardas, Psy.D. Th.D.

Ravenous Howl...

Too far apart!
Disfigured by mar,
Despise astatic ways...
(For florid felicity
Cannot flourish
In driblet of fell duplicity...)
Unfold the arduous maze
To reach highland,
Covenanted Place,
Finishing providential race.
Not ever stopping
As horse galloping,
Spitting, spitting, spitting
In the Old Serpent's face!

Rays from Footprints gleaming
In torturous distance streaming...
Too far apart!
Repulsion of each mar!
Too distant
Hem of Your Cloak
Starved for soft stroke...
Fire within
Needs to be stoked...
Can't touch Pierced Hand,
Stained in Blood sand...
Mend wounds oh! mend...
(Euphoric Grassland!)
Your Silhouette
On distant shore...
Soul... lapse no more!
Enclose Ring of fire
Crush, burn
Empty desire,
Silence denier -
Perpetual liar!
Sole
Deathless
Inspirer...
.......................................................................
Silence my tongue
When I do not speak of Thee...
Make my pen barren
If I fail to 'write' of Thee...

Great poem touching upon the most important spiritual themes as liberation from sin & Satan, a search for a deeper reconciliation with God, and the sufferings we must bear to become stronger in our friendship with God. Dr., impressive stylistic choice! 10!

Dr. Kardas, skillfully written poem with deep mystical insights. Symbols as Cross and Ring are synthesizing the victory of our spiritual battle. I read that a few saints received in visions from Christ a ring as a reward and sign of their marriage or complete unity with Him. Once again, another great addition to your unique verse! God be with you - the Cushings

Hi Dr. Kardas! Glad to see you back! These days one must use a lantern to find poetry of this great calibre! Your insights shoot out like a cannon in the night! How true if we are not awakened to God & serve Him according to His truths, we are basically dead, & at the end find utter misery. I absolutely agree that serious writers must write only about eternal matters or don't bother at all. There is too much rubbish out there, not worth any attention. God bless! Keep them coming! 10! ! !
