Rat Update

Where has it gone this errant rat?
A week has passed.. that cheeky brat!
It did not take the salty bait
The trap in place, still lays in wait..

It has been good,
It has been quiet,
Is it on a no food diet?
Zero droppings found, oh drat!
Where is this blasted rat!

No squeaks heard, no footprints seen
Where is it hiding, where has it been?
That thief has eaten a banana whole
Perhaps it stuck tight in a drainpipe hole
Well, I will wait in eager anticipation.
It could be having a bad constipation!
