Rats Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Rats

Rating: 3.5

Rats

'Dig a hole' said expert.
'Drop some, feed them well.

Horrible were plains
All crops were drained
Empty were the fields
Eaten were to their roots.

Homer wrote Iliad; Trojan
Set Troy on fire.

But with rats

'Don't waste time in hurry.'
Said the wise: 'Don't worry, '

In the pond rats grew
Multiplied; not few
Number got out of hand
Had orders and demand

'Now stop feeding them.'
No trade, no contacts
Hungry; rats went wild
The bigger ate small
Left Few; 'All Top guns'

'Catch them now; let them free.'

Rat eating Bully-Rats
Loved the rats as do cats
Had no taste for crops
Ate the rats; tasty rats

Our life is a Rat-Life
Let us feed oligarchs
Let them taste easy life.
Let Rat eat other Rat.
