Rat And Jackal Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Rat And Jackal

Rat and jackal

News reads in Serat:
"Brutal they tortured a jackal…"
and it says:
"…they cut parts like its tail
while alive…"

Hair stands on its end; on my arm
I recall
they caught rat
on it poured gasoline
then fire
and rat ran
and flame in the air
danced and danced and danced
even now I can see
without aid…

Rat on run…
Flames dance till it falls.
