Random Thought Xll Poem by Savita Tyagi

Random Thought Xll

Climbing Mount Everest is challenging
So is swimming across the English Channel
Crisscrossing the land on foot is tiresome
Flying is nightmare save the destination
But most challenging is to get a good night sleep.

This is rally a ZEN-type poem in which you link things of different scale and find them equal - and harmonious. Through the focusing lens of poetry falling asleep is equal in importance to conquering Everest. It's the mind again which can zip around things and being a spacious universe within can accomodate multitudes. When people open Gargantua's mouth during a terrible storm, they find he is sheltering his army of thousands of soldiers inside! Such things used to be mysterious, but not any more!

my favorite line: Crisscrossing the land on foot is tiresome ......i think that is called an understatement! :) i agree wholeheartedly with Tirupathi, below. not that i consider sleep to be a little thing. not when i do it for over 1/3 of my lifetime! i'd rather get a good night's sleep than do any of those little things. thanks for sharing! :) bri - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - p.s. Bri's Life Challenges I only climbed Mt. Everest twice; I loved all the snow, and the ice. I swam the English Channel once, ended up in China; what a dunce! I crisscrossed Australia on foot too, and was mugged by one kangaroo. Flying for me was lots of FUN; many sights I saw, Too bad I was going to see......my mother-in-law. [Savita, for being my inspiration, i thank you! ]

Doing little things is as important as those almost impossible feats. Nice thought.
