These are gracious, generous thoughts about the relationship of the interior life to the exterior life. The problem is that many people live with only ONE of the two, and thus live stunted lives. Obviously, it is the exterior life which prevails for most, but for us poets the interior life is our forte, and the danger for us is getting stuck in its comforts and ease. Your poem shows us the goal is in the integration of the two, and sketches a way to do this in the second part. This is a profound thought expressed in the clearest language.
