Rainy Day Treasures

Mild rain
At work
Water at
Roof's edge
Keeps falling
In a series
Of drops
Patterns of
Brilliant pearls
drop..
drop..drop..
drop..drop..d rop..
drop..drop..
...
Dropping to
The ground
And
These fluid
Treasures
Of purity
Sink into
My mind's
Chest
I'm now
Refreshed
To go on
For ever.

poet Sir Walter Raleigh

EVEN such is Time, that takes in trust
Our youth, our joys, our all we have,
And pays us but with earth and dust;
