Rainforest Nightmare Poem by Shayli Harris

Rainforest Nightmare

Rating: 5.0

under the red moon,
where the black flowers bloom
thou shall lose all will
while many see wonder,
beauty untold;
no one ever notices
the dark corners,
where those who whisper
songs of death
pray for and
someone save us
from the forest floor

our minds, they have drifted
and ashes, have sifted;
confined to our dark flower buds
that will never bloom,
and where the sun is an illusion,
where happiness and laughter
dare not dwell
save us someone
from the forest floor

It is so sad that there are plants that will never grow, because they lack sunlight, as well moisture. The tall trees in the forest overshadow the ones that are not as tall. Thank you for making us think. Love & hugs, Barbara
