Raindrop Haiku Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Raindrop Haiku

raindropp ooops
raindrops more ooops
raindrops etc., etc., etc...

raindrops
chatting
etc., etc., etc...

etc.,
etc.,
etc...

raindropp by raindrop
the sky weaves
a downpour

shell shocked
by the sudden downpour
snail hides inside itself

sudden summer rain
the snail makes a dash for it
stops by the time it starts

after the rain
the leaves still weep
raindrops

voice of a raindrop
becomes
roar of monsoon

monarch of all it surveys
the rain
reigns

rain’s reign
overthrown by
the sun king

dried up puddle
brought back to life
by the rain’s kiss

puddle
shrinking under
the sun’s gaze

puddles
enjoying
the children’s laughter

jumping in puddles
multicoloured wellies
splash with delight
