Rainbow Poem by Pete Rivera

Rainbow

Somewhere in the forest
There's a voice that beckons my spirit
The birds of the air
Know not the beasts of the field

Somewhere in the valley
There's a voice that beckons my soul
Calls me down from the mountain
Everyone seems so innocent

And there it was
Perceived by grace
Brightest spectrum filled by love
I knew how to listen, listen, learn

Somewhere in the meadow
There's a voice that beckons my mind
My train of thought
Has never been so deceived

That even though
She knew the seasons
She knew not the days
Hours, minutes, seconds

And there it was
Perceived by grace
Brightest spectrum filled by love
I knew how to listen, listen, learn

Someday I'll get you to love me
Someday you'll see how much I need you
My heart my soul
Knows nothing of the future

And my shattered heart
The way you turn things around
You never pitied me before
Why should I believe you now

And there it was
Perceived by grace
Brightest spectrum filled by love
I knew how to listen, listen, learn

I know why the caged bird sings
I know why the tigers swim
I know why the babies cry
I know, I know, I learn

I know
Oh, I know
I know
Oh, I know
Oh, I know how it goes
Oh, I know how it goes

And there it was
Perceived by grace
Brightest spectrum filled by love
I knew how to listen, listen, learn
I knew how to listen..listen..learn
