Rain Or Shine Poem by Damani Harris

Rain Or Shine

Rating: 2.5

I would be there through the hardships and prosperous times
The drive I took to the beach late that one night
We sang along to the music that went along so well with the beautiful sight.
What’s mine is yours
I think this while we lie under the skyway and watch the ships go by while the rain pours.
Rain or shine
You were always the same, never vain not even one single time
The sun is shining but compared to you I am dull and down
You illuminate the dark night sky which in effect lights up the whole town
The ground you walk on is so sturdy and pure
Whenever I am sick you are my only remedy, the only cure
Rain or shine is what I am going to call this piece
I gently place my hand through your indulgent fingers as we go about and sight see
Rain or shine
If you were the last girl I will ever lay eyes on or ever love, that would be fine.
The city always rescues us when things get difficult and are in a bind
I love you if you are drenched from the rain or if you are glistening from the sun shine.
As the world’s clock ticks closer until the end of time
We have to remember that we have to persist through days and days of both rain and shine.
