Rain Poem by Sugar Bear

Rain

Shh, thud, thump, slush
Is the exact sound of the rainy rush
Sleek, sleek, swish, spleak
So irresistibly soothing anyone asleep
Buddaboom, crackle, crash!
Mighty lightning hitting earth so fast
Try not to think, just fall asleep
As your roof begins to speak
Flashing strobe lights through your window
Cars only go by running slow
But hush, hush, don’t wake the rain
Let it pour through your drains
Let it live through the mud under your grass
Let it splatter the sidewalk while the traffic pass
Step lightly, slowly, calm down
No need to soak others around
Just stride, look, ahh
Let it slick your skin as you watch it fall
Or hide, scurry, run
Don’t let your hair get drained upon
It’s your chose to love or hate the rain
But don’t let it take charge of your day
Bump, Bump, Scurrrr
So many sounds, only your ears have heard
Hour after hour
Fill our skies with its shower
Now lay, sleep, and sleep
Listen to the way things creek, creek
The rain damages so many things
But is also more beautiful than anything
Silence, smoky eyes
Unbelievable rainbows race across the sky
But spaddle, spluck, splush
The ground is still surrounded with slush
Now pretty birdies make sounds
While the sun comes shining through the clouds
