Rain Poem by Kalpna SinghChitnis

Rain

Sad like monsoon sky,
weepy like pouring rain,

aimless like rolling clouds,
silent like vast plains.

Rain, come on down
I'm inflamed,
extinguish me,

shiver me like a twig,
broken from a tree,

shatter me like a drop,
fallen from a roof,

bring me down,
I'm nothing but a mud-house...!

Rain, rush me through the raging rivers,
to lose my unbearable pain...

take me away from all, what hurts
and can't be cured...

Rain,
be again,
the Angel of my salvation.
