Rachel's Rain Poem by Fox Nekitsune

Rachel's Rain

I could hear Rachel's cries
her tears falling into a sea of noise
as memories of the night passed before my eyes
cab rides with friends with words about boys
and the plan of our later delight
and as the club doors did pass
our ritual of white lines began
then the flare of bright light
as the dancing filled our minds
the party rolled on
favours went down without care
the grinding of flesh
the smiles that he made
then the flare of bright light
and the crying remains
distant voices and the crashing waves
the pains and the sound distilling from fears
and then Rachel's words coming out of the rain
'What if she dies? '

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
this poem was written some time ago but I never put it online, though it began as a short story about a girl called Annie though I feel it is done more justice by this rendition.

Beautiful. Perspective: Laying on the ground, looking up into the blurry face of a friend...on the cusp of ultimate realization.
