Question Of Mirth

When it's easier in,
we say 'why on house? '
to anyone on the roof,

and we say 'why on earth? '
because hardly anyone's in.

If it was easier on,
we'd say 'why in? '
and if nearly all of us were in,
we wouldn't say 'why on? '
