Question Poem by Jan Sand

Question

Will something,
At the end,
Crumple up my soul
Like a sheet of paper
Full of scribbled errors,
Screw it tight,
Toss it to the flames
To flare an instant,
Transform to a carbon sheet
Crawling with bright sparks
Of my final thoughts
That withers to a pale grey
Transparent veil
That floats upwards in the heat,
As weightless as a sigh,
Into the endless night?
