Quandaries Of A Sinner Poem by Mustafa Marconi

Quandaries Of A Sinner

Heaven sent a special notice
In a vision so piercingly real
Clad in holy garments
Scented with the fragrance of Frankincense and Myrrh
He cautiously approached
“Peace be upon you”
My knees shaking uncontrollably
He tenderly embraced me
Beseeching my forgiveness
Intently I stared deep into his soul
And felt the calm of a soothing breeze…
Leading me into a sanctuary
I’m greeted by familiar faces
My heart heavy
My spirit troubled
“Fear not my son”
Him I did not recognize
My eyes welled with water
I could not distinguish his attributes
Suddenly they all rise
Bidding farewell they each embrace me
One at a time
Asking for my forgiveness
I follow them to a township
Unable to cross that final road
I call out to him one final time
He answers “I’m all right my friend
Everything is all right”
