Putting Business In The Street Poem by Jacqueline Czel

Putting Business In The Street

Ain't nothing
but hard times
around the way,
words
fall from
many wagging
lips
with nothing
good to say.

Because you see,
she's pregnant
AGAIN
and he's going to jail,
so and so is broke
and her sister's cousins
aunt's husband
is chasing some
YOUNG
tail across town
and their mama
went and died
and so and so
got the diabetes,
His GAY son shot up
some heroin
and that lil hooker
over there is so
DAMN greedy.

Gossip comes
and gossip goes,
gossip goes round
and round and
round
until
everybody
knows.
