Purgatory For Beginners Poem by Michael Pyatt

Purgatory For Beginners

Purgatory for beginners

Heaven is so empty
Hell has plenty
Of the souls who didn't quit
After the first action of vice
After the first taste
You just let your soul go to waste

The first time you cheated on your wife
Didn't take any of that good advice
For the price of a cheap and quick pleasure
When the end comes, purgatory for beginners

Chorus

The first time you stole from a shop
Seemed so easy, should do it a lot
For your hands more than the eyes are quicker
