Pumpkin Pie Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Pumpkin Pie

Pumpkin

I ate pumpkin pie with whipped cream,
Then I ate pumpkin for dinner,
Why would you eat that for dinner my friend asked?
Because a pumpkin is a vegetable too I replied.

Well the horn of plenty was just that.
I was happy that it was.
So I ate and ate the food of Thanksgiving
And I thanked God for my delicious living.
