Pulled Over Poem by Dillon McKenna

Pulled Over

Rating: 4.5

On a grey and dreary afternoon I pulled off of the road,
My soul was weak and weary of dragging this heavy load.
I'd searched for solace all my life, but it's turned into a chase,
No one else can see the smallest secrets in my face.
Now I have to find a friend and I don't know who to call,
Each day I step towards the end of this long and narrow hall.

The cars roll by me as the clouds that never leave the sky,
And I can't see through the shrouds of love that never leave my eyes.
Once I had a chance at heaven but I let it slip through my hands,
Once we watched the old sun setting where the waves shape the sand.
How could I let you leave with a teardrop and a kiss?
Now I cannot believe I let you go with just a wish.
